Five Baby Clothes Trends For 2024

Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Clothing

In the past, sustainable clothes were the province of lentil-eating hippies and weren't a common presence in your average shop.

However, with greater awareness of the environment, the tide has turned. It seems that many baby and toddler clothing manufacturers, from independents to designer brands, have embraced using sustainable, recyclable materials for modern day clothes. And with continued interest in keeping the planet safe, it's a fair bet that this will remain a popular trend in years to come.

Subtle Shades

Whilst the traditional pink and sky blue colours are still popular, coming something a bit more subdued. Pastel shades in particular are proving to be a big draw, with a number of factors working in this trend's favour. Parents don't have to worry about whether their newborn will be a boy or a girl, as this type of trend is suitable for both.

That's not to say that it's purely blacks, whites and greys in vogue. Lighter shades of blue and lemon are especially popular.

Past Present

Just like TV and music, more consumers are looking to the past for inspiration when it comes to baby clothes.

Classic designs from the '60s, '70s and '80s, believe it or not, are making a comeback in terms of patterns and knitted styles. Think florals, polka dots, chequered designs, that sort of thing. Plus, some of the kids' telly from yesteryear are still reaching out to today's babies.

This Time It's Personal

Adding the personal touch means that baby and toddler wear isn't just comfortable and practical, but also unique. Thanks to advancements in technology, adding your own spin on baby clothes is a lot simpler. You can add the name of your litte one, a personalised picture or motif, or even a T-shirt or jumper bearing a special image – maybe a family portrait or the new arrival!

Technology

It's a new trend, but we think this could catch on in the future. It's now possible for baby clothes to feature technological facets that can do all sorts of things when it comes to monitoring your newborn's health – for example, some can monitor heartbeat and oxygen rate, providing extra peace of mind for parents.

Competition Time

In this rather hectic Summer Beach Scene, we have partially hidden nine suns. Can you find them all?
